This work is about preparation and characterization of composites expanded using natural rubber clearly Brazilian type crepe (CCB) and residue industrial of bovine leather (RL). The project, in level of Scientific Initiation, considered for Nelissa Gonçalves Garcia, is student regularly registered in the course of Ambient Engineering in the UNESP of Presidente Prudente. In this project, the composition will be called BN-CCB/RC. The samples will be prepared under high temperature in a thermoelectrial press, without the load performance on the material. Also the vulcanization of the present natural rubber in the composites will be effected, being that the incorporation of the agents of vulcanization will be made the ambient temperature by means of an opened mixer cylinder. The characterization studies will be made through the techniques of thermal analyses (DSC, TG, DMA, TG/FT-IR), spectroscopy FT-IR mode ATR, mechanical Raman spectroscopy, mechanical test (stress x strain) and optic microscopy (MO). The leather scrap will be supplied by the tanneries of President Prudente -SP and the natural rubber for the farm Saint Helena in the Colinas City. What great interest of study awakes is the possibility of attainment of a material manufactured from leather scrap, an abundant and undesirable residue that also brings serious economic problems to the producing sector and serious ambient problems, had to the chemical processes which are submitted for its improvement.
