Abstract

Surface Design is a still incipient area in Brazil, searching and teaching in few units of higher education. However, it is a design field that presents a great potential research in several instances, since scientific initiation. It is a technical and creative activity that has for goal the project of visual and/or tactile textures, destined to materials and processes problems solution of production, considering aesthetic, symbolic and functional aspects. That scientific initiation research intends to contribute for scholar formation, by means of a differentiated geometric experience from that studied at present, to introduce the student in research activity systematized in the technology of textile products. Images creation in textile materials is production processes result of (spinning and weaving - threads color and direction variation of fabric) and/or technological alterations, with pattern creation by means of tinting, painting, stamping, embroideries, washes. From this premise the research question to be investigated is: "Due to the fabric production processes and technical differentiated from pattern, which ones images the kinds can be generated?" Then, this research will focus on Textile Surface Design, where it will be ally concepts of Graphic Design, Design Fashion and Surface Design, and it will be investigated image construction in textile products from different production ways.
