This work is part of a Fapesp Project nº 07/52610-6. The aim of this research is verify the children´s comprehension about the formative needs and the education potentialities in their surroundings in respect to the environmental subjects. This work will also try to improve interlocution between the school and its neighborhood in three "Comunidades de Aprendizagem" (CA) in São Carlos/ SP. The proposal is based in previous works made in association between Niase/Ufscar and CREA/ UAB-Barcelona. These studies showed the necessity of a well knowledge about the implantation and development process of de CA in suburbia schools in order to improve the children's learning with neighborhood participation. The theoric base of CA is dialogic learning and this research will be based in the critic communicative methodology. A questionnaire bringing information about the neighborhood environmental condition, the formative needs and the education potentialities through the children's perspective of the 5 groups in each CA schools - one of each level with 6 to 10 year-old children in a total of 15 groups will be applied. The results of this study will be put in an information system that will get possible crossed analysis among not only the variables of this works but also with the ones mentioned in the major project. A weekly activity will be done in order to study theorical and methodologic principles adopted here with a objective to group's continuous education. Family and neighborhood education proposal will be planned. The mainly aspects that favour the ones involved with the children's learning and difficulties will be described. (AU)
