Abstract

The goal of this project is to explore the synthesis of self-standing III-V compounds nanowires with their respective optical, structural and electrical characterizations. The nanowire growth will be catalyzed by metallic nanoparticles using the Vapor-Liquid-Solid method in a chemical beam epitaxy system. For nanowires of different binary alloys (InP, InAs, GaAs and GaP), we will analyze the dependence with the nanoparticle size and composition, as well as with the type and processing of the substrate. Based on these results, more complex structures, like core-shell or nanowires arrays, will also be explored. Devices allowing transport measurements will be processed for selected samples. With this work, we intend to strengthen on-going collaborations with several research groups in IFGW/UNICAMP and LNLS.
