Abstract

This research aims to identify differences in the process of social interaction of children with Down Syndrome in relation to kinds of scholar environment (classroom and playground) in a regular education in Ribeirão Preto - São Paulo, Brazil. The participants of this study will be children from three to six years old with Down Syndrome. To collect the data, two children's shootings in situations of social interaction in EMEI will be made in these environments: in the classroom and in the park. This manner of proceeding aims to evaluate, by using the categories created by Anhão (2009), the social interaction process of these children and, also, if there are differences between those two school environments mentioned before. The data's analysis of the group of the children with DS studied will be held through the observation made by the quantities of behaviors collected during the filming. The statistical techniques used will be the non-parametric: in order to verify if the magnitude of the scores is different in each environment, the Wilcoxon test will be used; in the other hand, the Spearman's correlation will be measuring if the behaviors of the children are related among the two environments (AU)
