Abstract

Introduction: senility may lead to anatomical changes of both outer and middle ear and exist the need to examine the relationship between these changes and their consequences to be performed reure (resonant response of the auditory canal of the patient) during the process of adapting hearing aids individual, providing enough amplification to hear the individual sounds to stick to the natural resonance of the ear. Objective: To analyze the natural resonance of the external auditory canal in the elderly who have anatomic changes of aging.Subjects: 30 elderly will be assessed regularly seen in the Speech Therapy Clinic of the Faculty of Dentistry of Bauru of the University of Sao Paulo, who have a diagnosis of bilateral hearing impairment of varying degrees, with abnormalities of the MAE of aging.Be analyzed the resonance of external ear (Reur) and the gain of resonance of the external ear (Reug)
