Abstract Clinical manifestations in the upper airway (UA) occur in 100% of patients with cystic fibrosis (CF), including recurrent sinusitis, rhinitis and / or nasal polyposis. This study aims to assess 23 patients (children and adolescents) with cystic fibrosis, in attendance for a period of five years. All patients involved underwent endoscopy every six months. The presence and degree of nasal polyposis were evaluated. Each episode of polyps was treated with steroids for six to twelve months. In this paper, we analyze the incidence and recurrence of nasal polyps in these patients. Clinical respiratory symptoms will be obtained from medical records and interview and will be correlated to the presence of nasal polyposis. The long-term results will be described. (AU) | |
