Abstract

Mitochondria and nucleus crosstalk is continuous and regulated by a number of gene products and secondary metabolites. External signals are also detected by different pathways, leading to a differential expression of genes involved in the respiratory electron chain. Mitochondrial dysfunction and metabolites generated by its Redox state are also detected by nucleus receptors, resulting in a secondary control of gene expression. Our proposal here is to identify the cause of a respiratory deficiency caused by a gene allele involved in general transcription repression - SSN6, and also finish the studies with the ORF YGR102, involved in the co-expression of two different respiratory complexes: cytochrome c oxidase and ATP sintase.
