Abstract

This doctoral dissertation, named Political Black Elite in Brazil, investigates the relationship between Black Movement, Political Parties and State, from 1978 until 2002. The theoretical approach used was based both in the Sociology of Racial Relations and Political Process Theory. I also have made use of Social Movements analytical frameworks. Over the course of this research I worked with documental sources and interviews. I focused especially in articles and other documents written by Black activists. I also used articles that circulated in alternative and mainstream medias, and other documents publicized by Political Parties, and Governments. (AU)
