Abstract

The Brazilian modeled land went through several climate changes, tectonic action, as well as several denudation processes. Among these are the erosive cycles of planning that generated the Brazilian paleosurfaces. Several authors have attempted to identify these geomorphic surfaces and their pediments or correlative deposits. However, there are controversies and different information on the classification of planning surfaces of Brazil. Some theorists consider the occurrence thereof by tectonics, while others consider the occurrence due to the weather. Thus, this work searched to identify surface geomorphic associated with iron lateritic profiles in the Midwest of Minas Gerais, using the airborne geophysical, geochemical and field techniques, correlating all of them to understand the processes that allowed its genesis. Finally, it can be concluded that: the planning cycles occur from when South America and Africa were together; that the alleged South American Cycle planning affected much of the continental Brazil, generating planning surfaces in quotas between 1000 and 1100 meters over sea level and that such relief rebates allowed indistinct formation of iron lateritic profiles along the eastern Brazil, through similar geochemical processes, even though they are on different source materials. It was noticed that these big change profiles, mostly are ferruginous or siliceous matrix and that the integration of geochemical and geophysical data is of utmost importance because it made possible the mapping of those areas associated with ferricretes (AU)
