Abstract

Phraseology is an emerging discipline in Brazil that has been gaining space and voice in Linguistic Studies. In this context, this thesis addresses the documentation process, both theoretical and methodological, that enabled the Phraseology (CASARES, 1992 [1969]; ZULUAGA, 1980; XATARA, 1994, 1998, 2008; CORPAS PASTOR, 1996, 2000, 2003; RUIZ GURILLO, 1997, 1998; GONZÁLEZ REY, 2004), Phraseography (TRISTÁ PÉREZ, 1998; OLÍMPIO DE OLIVEIRA SILVA, 2007; PENADÉS MARTÍNEZ, 2012) and Phraseodidactic triangulation (CONCA, 2005; BINON e VERLINDE, 2004; ETTINGER, 2008; TIMOFEEVA, 2013; NÚÑEZ-ROMÁN, 2015), with a view to the preparation of practical materials. The phraseological units analysis procedure is complemented by the cultural approach (DOBROVOL’SKIJ e PIIRAINEN, 2005; PIIRAINEN, 2008) that considers the treatment of cultural phenomena as essential for the figurative language’s analysis (FAUCONNIER, 1985, 2003; FAUCONNIER e TURNER, 1998, 2002; LOTMAN, 1996; PAMIES BERTRÁN, 2008). Under these circumstances, extralinguistic factors influence the formation of phraseologisms, and their transposition of meaning seems to obey a growing scale of abstraction (HEINE, CLAUDI e HÜNNEMEYER, 1991; HEINE, 1997; UNTERNBÄUMEN, 2007; FERRARI, 2011; WILSON e MARTELOTTA, 2016). As a result, we developed an online platform, FraZoo (www.frazoo.com.br), which provides a bilingual special dictionary for teaching and learning phraseological units related to animals in Brazilian Portuguese and French from France. This electronic dictionary is fed by an Access database (MICROSOFT, 2016) of 728 zoological phraseologisms, BD-FraZoo, which conveys phraseological units formed with animal terms, and their records present authentic contexts, variants, synonyms, correspondents and cultural information. When conducting the search, phraseologisms can be organized in a semasiological or onomasiological way. The reflections presented reconstruct this work’s development process and, above all, indicate the fact that phraseological theory can provide basis for a phraseological study with pedagogical characteristics. As the phraseological units cover extralinguistic elements, understanding and teaching are associated with cultural factors, because they imply the connotated use of knowledge and social abstractions. Therefore, FraZoo is based on the premise that the phraseological study helps in the cognitive processes, in the development of the connotative language and in deepening cultural issues. (AU)
