Abstract

This work presents primarily an overview of low power analog integrated circuits state-of-the-art. It shows present and future trends as well as a review of different integration technologies and problems related to modeling and electric simulation. Next, various adequate design techniques for low-power low-voltage circuits are presented, specifically those for operational amplifiers input and output stages. An operational amplifier has been designed using an scheme that is well suited for operation at low supply voltages. The operational amplifier has rail-to-rail input and output voltage ranges and will be used for signal conditioning in an human body temperature acquisition system for biomedical applications. Simulation results shows that the amplifier is appropriated to be used on this or others systems. (AU)
