| Abstract | |
The present research consists on a "two-way-road": processes of achieving knowledge and self-knowledge, both from the subjects and my own, were in constant dialogue. During the years of 2007 and 2008 I worked on three different training practices with three different groups of UNICAMP - Campinas University - students. During our meetings, the participants prepared poetic autobiographical narratives, so named because they were created from elements of artistic languages. Along with that process I wrote memoirs in order to recall myself of my own experiences, telling my own story through metaphors and symbols. My whole investigation was based on these very self-reflective practices. I discovered through the process of research that the autobiographical narratives were ideal places for conceiving symbols to be manifested in creative action and through creative action. I chose as the corpus of my research both the process experienced within the group formed by undergraduates in pedagogy as well as the productions undertaken by them. I then tried to identify the main symbols present on two of the students' narratives, based on C. G. Jung's Analytical Psychology. From such evidence I then started to find relationships between these processes and the self-reflexive practices within teacher education. These relationships would point towards the integration of unconscious contents into consciousness, showing the possibility of new ways of living and knowing the world and ourselves and also reshaping our ability to reflect on how (self) knowledge can (re) organize our actions in life and teaching.
