Evandro Ziggiatti Monteiro is an architect and urban planner, Associate Professor (Livre-docente) and researcher at the University of Campinas (Unicamp), where he coordinates the research activities of the School of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Urbanism (FECFAU). A specialist in urbanism education and pedagogical methodologies, he published his first book in 2012, focusing on sustainable strategies for urban planning and design, particularly in contexts of self-construction.His main research field centers on the urban morphology of existing fabrics, their historical evolution, and the resulting impacts and conflicts in the urban landscape, with special attention to the city of Campinas. From 2013 to 2016, he coordinated the undergraduate program in Architecture and Urbanism at Unicamp, serving on several academic and institutional boards. Since 2010, he has co-led, with Professor Emília Rutkowski, the research group FLUXUS Laboratory for Learning in Socio-environmental Sustainability, Urban Morphology, Knowledge, and Humanized Living, which is currently affiliated with the international research network DASMind (Design, Art, Space, Mind). Since 2022, he has been a member of the scientific committee of PNUM the Urban Morphology Network of Portuguese-speaking Countries. He is also a principal researcher at CEUCI Center for Urban Studies on Knowledge and Innovation, where he investigates contemporary urban territories, socio-spatial sustainability, and the landscapes of knowledge.
