Full Professor of Social Sciences Applied to Health at the Department of Public Health, School of Medical Sciences, University of Campinas (DSC/FCM/Unicamp). Graduated in Social Sciences from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas (1990-1993), specialized in Sociology of Health at DSC/FCM/Unicamp (1994), where he also obtained the degrees of Master (1997), PhD (2002), Associate Professor (2013) and Full Professor (2022). At FCM/Unicamp, he held the position of Deputy Head of the Department of Public Health (2010-2012) and Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Public Health (2014-2016; 2018-2020; 2020-2022). Postdoctoral fellow at the University of Leeds/UK (2006-2007) and Senior Internship at the University of London/UK (2017). Coordinator of the Laboratory of Alternative, Complementary and Integrative Practices in Health (LAPACIS). Coordinator of the Specialist Training Course in "Integrative Practices in Health: Expansion of the Culture of Care". Coordinator of the Forum of Postgraduate Coordinators in Public Health at ABRASCO (2020-2023). President of the Research Committee 15 Sociology of Health/ International Sociological Association (2023-2027). Consultant to the World Health Organization in the area of #8203;#8203;"Traditional Medicine Research Priority Setting Exercise" (2024-2025) and "WHO Evidence Review of Traditional Medicine Research Methods" (2023-2025). Develops research in Cultural Studies in Health; Sociology of Health; Sociology of Alternative, Complementary and Integrative Practices in Health; Autoethnography; Qualitative Research Methods and Techniques; Teaching Social Sciences in the Health Area; and Public Health.
