She is a Full Professor at the Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Scientific Computing of the University of Campinas (IMECC/Unicamp). She currently serves as President of the Brazilian Mathematical Society (20232027) and of the Mathematical Union of Latin America and the Caribbean (20252029). In 2023, she was the recipient of the "Science, She Says!" Award for South and Central America and the Caribbean, granted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. That same year, she was awarded the title of Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy by the Italian government. Also in 2023, she received the Outstanding Researcher of the Federal District award, granted by the Federal District Research Support Foundation (FAPDF).In 2024, she received the USP Alumni Award (honorable mention) and became a member of both the Scientific Committee and the Governing Board of the Institute of the Mathematical Sciences of the Americas (IMSA) at the University of Miami. That same year, she also joined the Springer Nature Latin American Research Advisory Council.She currently serves on the Gender and Diversity Advisory Board of TWAS (The World Academy of Sciences), and was a member of the Executive Committee of the TWAS Young Affiliate Network (20222024). In 2019, she was awarded the Alexander von Humboldt/CAPES Fellowship for Experienced Researchers to carry out research at Justus Liebig University Giessen, Germany. In that same year, she was the national winner in Mathematics of the For Women in Science Award, granted by L'OréalUNESCOABC.In 2018, she was elected Affiliate Member of TWAS The World Academy of Sciences, Affiliate Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (ABC), and was selected as an Oberwolfach Leibniz Fellow by the Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach in Germany.She has served as Ambassador of the Committee for Women in Mathematics of the International Mathematical Union (IMU) since 2021. She was a member of the managing committee of the Brazilian National Institute of Mathematics (INCTMat) starting in December 2019. She served as Vice-President of the Brazilian Mathematical Society (20212023) and as Regional Secretary for the Central-West and Minas Gerais regions (20172019, 20192021).In 2012, she received the international Bernd-Aulbach Prize for Students in Novacella, Italy, awarded by the International Society of Difference Equations. She was a faculty member in the Department of Computing and Mathematics at the University of São Paulo (Ribeirão Preto campus) from 2013 to 2015, and in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Brasília from 2015 to 2025.
