Dr. Carneiro is a Full-time Associate Professor at the Faculty of Computing, Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU). He received the undergraduate degree in information systems from the Goiano Federal Institute, Urutaí, Brazil, in 2008; the M.Sc. degree in computer sciencefrom the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), Uberlândia, Brazil, in 2012; and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of São Paulo, São Carlos, Brazil, in 2016. He is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a member of the International Neural Networks Society (INNS), IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (IEEE-CIS) and Brazilian Computer Society (SBC). He is also a member of the Post-graduate Program in Computer Science (PPGCO/UFU) and of the Post-graduate Program in Agriculture and Geospatial Information (PPGAIG/UFU). He is a researcher affiliated with several research centers and networks, including the National Institute of Science and Technology in Theranostics and Nanobiotechnology (INCT-Teranano) and the Center for Artificial Intelligence (C4AI). He was an Academic Visitor at the Department of Computer Science, University of Surrey-UK (2015-2016). He has served as a member of the Technical Program Committee in dozens of conferences and as a reviewer for top journals such as IEEE Trans. in Neural Networks and Learning Systems and Neural Networks. He has been a member of the editorial board of the journal Complex Intelligent Systems since 2020 and has also served on the editorial boards of other international journals. Among the contributions to technological development and innovation, the filing of five patents stands out, including one international patent registered with WIPO, as well as the transfer of the related technologies to partner companies. He is actively involved in projects funded by organizations such as Google, IBM, NVIDIA, CNPq, CAPES, FAPESP, FAPEMIG, ImunoScan Molecular Engineering, and other private entities, with particular recognition for winning two Google Latin America Research Awards. He is the coordinator of the research group Artificial and Machine Intelligence in Networks (AINet), through which he has contributed to the training of dozens of professionals at undergraduate and graduate levels. He has experience in the field of Computer Science, with a focus on topics related to Artificial and Computational Intelligence, including Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Graph-based Learning, Data Science, Network Science, and Bioinspired Computing.
