SHe has a bachelor's and a degree in biological sciences from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP, molecular modality) and a master's degree in genetics from the same university. She holds a Ph.D. and a post-doctorate in Plant Molecular Genetics. She is at level VI as a scientific researcher, and a postgraduate professor at the IACs Tropical and Subtropical Agriculture course, teaching the discipline of Plant Genetics. Throughout his career, she specialized in molecular markers in plants, working mainly on the following topics: plant-pathogen interaction, marker assisted selection, linkage mapping and genotyping by sequencing (GBS), genome association studies (GWAS), molecular breeding, resistance to angular leaf spot, anthracnose, fusarium wilt and bacterial blight, drought tolerance, light-colored seed coat at harvest and slow darkening in common beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.).
