Graduated in Biological Sciences at Unicamp (1982), master's and Ph.D. in Genetics and Molecular Biology at Unicamp (1987, 1994) worked in Empresas Nucleares Brasileiras SA - Nuclebrás (1986 - 1988) and Technological Development Company S.A. - Codetec (1988 - 1994). researcher scientist at the Institute of Food Technology - ITAL from 1994 to 2020, with experience in food science and technology, genetics and industrial microbiology. He was director of Dairy Products Technology Center - Tecnolat (1995 - 2003) and general director of the ITAL (2004 - 2007). Participated in the projects Brazil Food Trends 2020, Brasil Beverage Trends 2020 and Brasil Dairy Trends 2020, coordinated the project Brazil Ingredients Trends 2020, and participated in the project Brasil Processed Food 2020. He was member of the group that made up the Platform of Technological Innovation of the ITAL, having participated in the preparation of several publications: Industrialized Foods, Food Industry 2030, Series industrialized products (Breads, Yogurts, Cookies, Juices, Ice Creams, Pizzas, Pastas, Hamburgers, Chocolates, Peanuts and Plant-Based). He also participated in the creation of the www.alimentosprocessados.com.br website, having been responsible for the preparation of part of its content. He was a representative of ITAL at CIB - Information Council on Biotechnology and member of Administration Board of Agribusiness Research Development Foundation - Fundepag.
