Graduated in Electrical Engineering (1985), with a specialization in Computer Science (1985) and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (1995), all from the University of São Paulo. He was a visiting researcher at the Image Science Institute, Utrecht University (1996), and the University of Southern California (2006-2007). He is the Director of the IT Department and the Biomedical Informatics Laboratory at InCor HCFMUSP, an Associate Professor at the University of Sao Paulo School of Medicine, and an Elected Member (2020) of the International Academy of Health Sciences Informatics (IAHSI). He has over 30 years of experience in Biomedical Engineering and Biomedical Informatics, focusing on biological signal processing and medical imaging. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
