Holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2000), a master's degree in Biological Sciences with an emphasis on Genetics from the same institution (2002), and a doctorate in Biological Sciences specializing in Biochemistry from the University of São Paulo (2005). Completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Ecology and Evolution at the University of Chicago (2010), where she also served as an associate researcher from 2011 to 2012. She was an Associate Professor at Arizona State University from 2022 to 2023 and a FAPESP Young Investigator from 2016 to 2021.Currently, she is an Associate Professor in the Department of Genetics and Evolutionary Biology at the University of São Paulo. Her expertise encompasses Genetics and Evolution, with a focus on gene expression during gametogenesis, the evolution of new genes, sex chromosomes, and bioinformatics. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
