Full Professor at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), affiliated with the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection at the Center for Agricultural Sciences. His expertise lies in Agricultural Engineering, with emphasis on Irrigation and Drainage, Water Resources, and Environmental Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), with a research internship at Utah State University (USA), and completed postdoctoral fellowships at ESALQ/USP and the University of California Davis (USA). He earned his Masters degree in Agronomy (Irrigation and Drainage) and his undergraduate degree in Agronomic Engineering from the São Paulo State University (UNESP). At UFSCar, he has held administrative roles including Head of Department (20092015) and Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Agriculture and Environment in multiple terms. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses focused on water use and management in agriculture. His main research lines include rational water use, fertigation, agricultural reuse of treated effluents, enhanced-efficiency fertilizers, and applications of Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) in soils and irrigation systems. He coordinates and collaborates on projects funded by agencies such as FAPESP, CNPq, and CAPES. He has a significant scientific output, with over 1,000 citations in the Scopus database, and actively serves as a reviewer for scientific journals and research funding agencies. He has supervised numerous masters theses, doctoral dissertations, and undergraduate research projects, contributing substantially to the training of new researchers. He was awarded the Gerdau Best of the Land Prize (2009), received institutional recognition from UFSCar (2014), and had articles nominated by Elsevier (2015). He has also been honored multiple times as a class mentor at graduation ceremonies. His career is distinguished by significant contributions to sustainable agriculture, impacting technological innovation, efficient water resource management, and the development of highly qualified professionals.
