Professor at the Institute of International Relations and Coordinator of the School of Multidimensional Security at the University of São Paulo. He was a professor at the Department of Political Science at USP (2000 to 2009) and a visiting researcher at the Taubman Center at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University (2006-2007). He is an economist graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and has a specialization in quantitative research methods from the Inter University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) at the University of Michigan. He holds a Master's and Doctorate in Political Science from IUPERJ in Rio de Janeiro and did his postdoctoral work at the Department of Political Science at USP. He was a member of the editorial board of the Revista Opinião Pública and of the Advisory Board of the Center for the Study of Public Opinion CESOP at the State University of Campinas between 1994 and 2012. 2021-24. He is also a member of the Management Council of the Public Security Secretariat of the State of São Paulo, and was a member of the Municipal Public Security Council of the municipality of São Paulo (2017-20) and coordinated the Advisory Council of the Brasília Vida Segura program of the Federal District Government.
