Bachelor's in Physics from Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (1996), master's in Space Geophysics from National Institute for Space Research - INPE (1999) and doctorate in Space Geophysics from National Institute for Space Research - INPE (2003). Permanent researcher at INPE since 2004, he has been the Academic Coordinator of the Graduation Program in Space Geophysics (2009-2011) and the head of the Space Geophysics Division (2011-2018). He has experience in Space Geophysics, focusing on Solar Physics, acting on the following subjects: coronal mass ejection, space weather, magnetic storms, magnetic clouds, geomagnetic storms and cosmic rays.
