Bachelor's in Physics from Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (1996), master's in Space Geophysics from National Institute for Space Research - INPE (1999) and doctoral degree in Space Geophysics from National Institute for Space Research - INPE (2003), with part of the research developed at the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research, Germany. Permanent researcher at INPE since 2004, he has acted as Academic Coordinator of the Space Geophysics Postgraduate Program (2009-2011 and 2019-2021) and as head of the Space Geophysics Division (2011-2018). Currently he is the head of the Heliophysics, Planetary Sciences and Aeronomy Division at INPE. He has experience in Space Geophysics, focusing on Solar Physics, acting on the following subjects: coronal mass ejection, space weather, magnetic storms, magnetic clouds, geomagnetic storms and cosmic rays. Currently member of the board of INPE's Postgraduate Internationalization Program (PrInt/CAPES). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
