Associate Professor at the School of Arts, Sciences and Humanities (EACH) at the University of São Paulo (USP). His habilitation is in history of science at USP and he is an advisor to the Postgraduate Programme in Cultural Studies at EACH-USP and the Programme in Economic History at FFLCH-USP and Director of Diversity at the Dean's Office for Inclusion and Belonging at USP. He was president of the Brazilian Society for the History of Science (SBHC) from 2022 to 2024, general coordinator of the National Seminar on the History of Science and Technology in 2022, and coordinator of USP's Cultural Studies programme from 2012 to 2016. He did two post-doctoral fellowships in the History of Science and Mathematics: in 2008 at the Universidad de Sevilla, Spain, and at the Sorbonne Université, France, in 2012. He was Visiting Professor at the University of St Andrews, Scotland, in 2023. He has worked on the history of scientific journals, engineering and intellectuals in Brazil, as well as the history of mathematics and its interconnections with arts and humanities.
