My academic journey began at the University of São Paulo (USP) in 1973, when I enrolled in the Bachelor of Chemistry program at the Institute of Physics and Chemistry of São Carlos (IFQSC), which I completed in 1976. Throughout my career at this institution, I achieved several notable milestones, including obtaining my master's degree in 1980 and my Ph.D. in 1986, both with a focus on Physical Chemistry. From 1988 to 1990, I conducted post-doctoral research at the University of California, Davis, in the United States. My dedication to research and academic contributions culminated in the achievement of the title of Livre-Docente by USP in 1993. Currently, I hold the position of full professor at USP and have the category of level 1A researcher, granted by CNPq (National Council for Scientific and Technological Development). Throughout my journey, I supervised 25 doctoral students, mentored 33 students in master's programs, with 1 as co-advisor, and coordinated 13 post-doctoral projects. With 193 articles published in scientific journals (with an h-index of 44 on Scopus), I have established a solid presence in the academic sphere. Furthermore, I expanded my work internationally, serving as a Visiting Professor at renowned institutions, including Universidad Castilla-La Mancha in Spain, Université de Poitiers in France, and the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. Over my 46 years of dedication to the institution, I have held various prominent administrative roles, including presidency of the International Cooperation, Research, and Graduate Committees, as well as coordination of the Graduate Program in Physical Chemistry. Additionally, I held the position of Head of the Department of Physical Chemistry and served as Vice Mayor of the Administrative Campus of USP in São Carlos. Beyond the university environment, my active involvement in the Brazilian Chemical Society has been marked by significant roles, such as Director of the Division of Electrochemistry and Electroanalysis, as well as Secretary and Deputy Secretary in the Waldemar Saffioti Paulista Interior Regional Division. Furthermore, I held leadership positions, including pro-tempore and elected presidency in the Brazilian Society of Electrochemistry and Electroanalysis, as well as national secretary and general secretary positions in the Iberoamerican Society of Electrochemistry.
