I am is currently Professor of the Masters Program in Medicine (grade 4) Nove de Julho University (UNINOVE). Has experience in the area of physiology, with an emphasis on Cardiovascular Physiology, acting on the following topics: the renin angiotensin system, hyperglycemia (diabetes), hypoxia (cardiac ischemia), ovarian hormone deprivation, exercise, cell and molecular biology (oxidative stress, inflammation and cell) death, with an emphasis on remodeling and cardiac metabolism. Recent results from our group showed in diabetic rats subjected to myocardial infarction (MI) reduced mortality from 15 to 30 days after coronary occlusion than normoglycemic animals undergoing the same procedure.
