Birthplace: Brazil

Graduated in Biological Sciences from UFSCar (2003) and PhD in Sciences from the Institute of Physics at USP São Carlos, with a specialization in Biomolecular Applied Physics (2008). She completed part of her postdoctoral research at the University of Houston and The Methodist Research Institute (2009), in addition to a second postdoctoral fellowship at the University of São Paulo, in the Protein Crystallography group of IFSC (2008 and 2010). With a solid background in Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Structural Biology, and Biophysical Techniques, as well as Tissue Engineering, she has dedicated her career to the investigation of various areas. Her skills range from the structural characterization of proteins to the assembly and stabilization of protein-protein and protein-DNA complexes, encompassing spectroscopic studies, structural stability analysis, and protein biophysics, as well as the characterization of biopharmaceuticals. She coordinated the Spectroscopy and Calorimetry Laboratory from 2011 to 2024. She actively participated in projects focused on the development of diagnostic tests and contributed to the COVID task force at CNPEM. Since 2020, she has initiated a research line in Tissue Engineering, focusing on the development and characterization of reconstructed skin models, 3D cultures, and organoids, aiming at the pursuit of alternative methodologies to animal use and toxicological studies through microfluidic systems. She works in the field of regenerative medicine, developing biological dressings for skin and heart injuries. Her primary research focus includes metabolic syndrome, obesity, diabetes, tissue bio-printing, and skin remodeling. She currently coordinates the 3D Cultures and Microfluidics Laboratory at LNBio - CNPEM, as well as leading the Tissue Engineering Platform at LNBio/CNPEM. She represents LNBio as a Central Laboratory associated with RENAMA and is affiliated with the International Microfluidic Systems Society (iMPS). Since 2019, she has been a productivity fellow at CNPq. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
