The Brazilian musicologist Dr Adriana Lopes Moreira is an Associate Professor in the Department of Music at the School of Communications and Arts (ECA), University of São Paulo (USP), where she has been teaching since 2004. She is the Vice-Chair of the International Relations Committee (CRInt) at ECA-USP and the Deputy Coordinator of the Graduate Programme in Music (PPGMUS) at ECA-USP.Over the past two decades, she has served as Undergraduate Programme Coordinator, Research Coordinator, and Coordinator of Specific Skills Examinations, in addition to having held the position of Deputy Head of the Department of Music at USP. With a background in piano and music analysis from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp, Brazil), she teaches courses in music perception, chamber music, 20th-century music history, tonal and post-tonal music analysis, and supervises research that links these topics to the repertoire of the 20th and 21st centuries. The researchers under her supervision are part of the Research Group TRAMA: Theory and Musical Analysis, which she founded and has coordinated since 2015. Her research has been published in prominent journals and presented at national and international conferences. Between 2011 and 2015, she was the Editor-in-Chief of the publications of ANPPOM, including the series Pesquisa em Música no Brasil and the journal OPUS, which achieved A1 status during her tenure. Building on this experience, she has joined the Editorial Boards of journals such as Súmula: Revista de Teoría y Análisis Musical (SATMUS, 2022-), Vórtex (UNESPAR, 2024-), OPUS (ANPPOM, 2015-), ORFEU (UDESC, 2015-), Revista Música (USP, 2015-), Art Research Journal (ARJ, Brazil, 2012-17), and Caravelas, Núcleo de Estudos da História da Música Luso-Brasileira (UNL, 2012). Over the past fifteen years, she has organised conferences that foster dialogue between Brazilian research and that of other countries, such as the International Meetings on Music Theory and Analysis (EITAM, 2009-19), and the Theory and Analysis section of the annual conference of the National Association for Music Research and Graduate Studies (ANPPOM, 2010-). She has also participated in activities organised by the Brazilian Association for Music Theory and Analysis (TeMA). At these conferences, her lectures and keynote addresses have focused on analyses of musical works composed in the 20th and 21st centuries, with a particular emphasis on those that combine elements of various aesthetic trends.
