Professor and researcher at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), working in the Atom to Cell Module, Biochemistry discipline. Currently serves as Deputy Director of the Technological and Social Innovation Agency (Agits), and has previously acted as coordinator and advisor of the Graduate Program in Bioproducts and Bioprocesses, as well as coordinator of the Specialization Course in Biotechnology at UNIFESP. Holds a bachelors degree (2002), a masters degree (2005), and a PhD (2009) from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar). Served as a substitute professor in Anatomy and Pathology at the same institution. Completed a sandwich PhD in Biotechnology and Cell Biology at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Amsterdam, the Netherlands, 2008) and a postdoctoral fellowship in Integrative Bone Tissue Biology at Université Jean Monnet Université de Lyon (Saint-Étienne, France, 20112013). Holds a diploma in Animal Experimentation from Université Paris V (Paris, 2013). Also worked as a contracted researcher at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA, France), within the framework of the European project RISK-IR, involving 10 institutions from 7 European countries (20132014). Returned to Brazil through the Young Talent Attraction program of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). Has experience in clinical studies involving women with osteoporosis, as well as in experimental in vitro and in vivo studies investigating the integrative biology of bone tissue, its mineralized matrix, and the bone marrow microenvironment. Also conducts studies analyzing the osteogenic potential of synthetic and natural biomaterials, with a focus on the development of innovative bioproducts. Research interests include tissue engineering (bone and skin), stem cells derived from different adult tissues, mechanical stress, physical resources, and cytogenotoxic agents.
