Alfredo Suppia is an associate professor at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), São Paulo, Brazil, in the fields of film history and film theory. He is the author of several articles and book chapters on Brazilian cinema, Latin-American cinemas, science fiction, scientific film, film genres, screenplay: theory and practice, film history and film theory, world cinemas, independent filmmaking, video games, Brazilian literature and modern literature. Alfredo Suppia is the author of books such as The Replicant Metropolis: Constructing a dialogue between Metropolis and Blade Runner (Juiz de Fora: University of Juiz de Fora Press, 2011), and Rarefied Atmosphere: Science Fiction in Brazilian Cinema (São Paulo: Devir, 2013). He also co-edited the book Red Alerts: Marxist Approaches to Science Fiction Cinema (Detroit: Wayne State University Press, 2016). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
