Doctor of Dental Surgery graduated from São Paulo State University, where he was awarded the academic distinction "Prof. Enyr Geraldo Arcieri" for his performance during his undergraduate studies. During his training, he initiated clinical internships in Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology at the Oral Oncology Center (COB). He then pursued a Masters degree in Oral Pathology at the Piracicaba Dental School, University of Campinas (FOP-UNICAMP), in collaboration with the Department of Oral Medicine at A. C. Camargo Cancer Center. Subsequently, he undertook a Ph.D. in collaboration with the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at the School of Clinical Dentistry, University of Sheffield, United Kingdom, through the Sandwich Ph.D. Program Abroad (PDSE/CAPES). He holds specialist titles in Oral Medicine, Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, and Hospital Dentistry, in addition to certification in Laser Therapy (Photobiomodulation), all granted by the Federal Council of Dentistry. In terms of professional experience, he served as a Dentist in the Oral Oncology Service at the Cancer Institute of the State of São Paulo (ICESP-FMUSP). Since 2011, he has been a faculty member in the Department of Oral Diagnosis at FOP-UNICAMP, holding the position of Associate Professor with tenure and is involved in theoretical and clinical teaching at the undergraduate level in Dentistry, as well as in Masters and Ph.D. programs in Oral Pathology and Dental Materials. He coordinates the Specialization Courses in Oral Medicine, Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, and the Distance Learning Extension Program on contemporary concepts in oral cancer. In academic administration, he has served as an elected member of the FOP-UNICAMP Congregation, Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Oral Medicine and Pathology at FOP-UNICAMP, elected member of the University Council of UNICAMP, and member of the Superior Council of the UNICAMP Clinical Hospital. Additionally, he is an advisor for funding agencies such as FAPESP, CAPES, CNPq, and FAEPEX/UNICAMP. His research focuses on oral potentially malignant disorders and oral and oropharyngeal cancer in Brazil and Latin America, with financial support from CAPES, CNPq, FAPESP, and FAEPEX/UNICAMP. As a result of his academic and administrative contributions, he has served as Secretary of the Brazilian Society of Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology (SOBEP) and currently holds the position of Financial Director. He is also a member of the Technical Chambers in Oral Medicine and Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at the Regional Council of Dentistry of São Paulo. Internationally, he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Oral Medicine (AAOM) and a member of the Latin American Cooperative Oncology Group (LACOG) in the Head and Neck Cancer section. He also participates in the Working Group of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC/WHO) responsible for the Handbook on Oral Cancer Prevention published by the World Health Organization. He was elected to serve in the following roles: (i) Latin America and Caribbean Councilor of the International Association of Oral Pathologists (IAOP), (ii) Secretary-General of the World Association for Photobiomodulation Therapy (WALT), and (iii) Reviewer of the *World Workshop on Oral Medicine VIII*, organized by AAOM. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Oral Diagnosis and serves on the Editorial Board of the American journal Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology. He is also the author of five textbooks and over 450 peer reviewed articles. As a speaker, he has delivered in-person lectures at academic, research, and clinical centers across all five administrative regions of Brazil, as well as in Argentina (where he serves as a visiting professor at the National University of Córdoba), Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the United States, Finland, England, Mexico, and Uruguay.
