He holds a Ph.D. in Sciences (2013) from the University of São Paulo (USP), with a sandwich doctoral period at the University of Toronto Scarborough (2012). He completed a postdoctoral fellowship (2014) at USP and another postdoctoral fellowship (2020) at the University of Toronto, Canada. He holds a Masters degree in Analytical Chemistry (2004) and a Bachelors degree in Industrial Chemistry (2002), both from the Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA).Currently, he is an Associate Professor IV at UFMA, where he is also a permanent faculty member of the Graduate Program in Chemistry. Between 2022 and 2023, he served as Deputy Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Chemistry and as Coordinator of the Multiuser Analytical Chemistry Center (CAMQ) at UFMA. Since April 2025, he has been Chair of the Academic Performance Evaluation Committee (CAD) of the Department of Chemical Technology at UFMA.His research areas include chemical sensors, flow analysis (FIA/BIA), chemically modified electrodes, trace analysis, water pollution, electroanalysis, advanced electrochemical devices, forensic chemistry, and 3D printing. With extensive experience in Analytical Chemistry, he is dedicated to developing innovative and low-cost analytical methods for environmental monitoring and chemical diagnostics, as well as working with cutting-edge technologies in electrochemical devices and their applications. His interests include the detection of pollutants, environmentally relevant substances, pharmaceuticals, and forensic targets, with a focus on sustainable and highly sensitive solutions.
