Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Instituto de Astronomia, Geofísica e Ciências Atmosféricas (IAG)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Itália

I graduated from the University of Bologna (Italy). My dissertation was in the field of cosmology, specifically I used peculiar galactic velocities to obtain the parameter Omega_m, total density of matter (barions + dark matter) (Branchini; Eldar; Nusser, 2002), supervised by Prof. Moscardini and Prof. Branchini. I got my PhD at Nottingham University (UK), under the supervision of Prof. Merrifield (Centre for Astronomy Particle Physics). During the PhD I was awarded an ESO studentship to spend one year at ESO-Garching working with Dr. Arnaboldi (ESO, PI of the PNS collaboration) and Prof. Gherard (MPE, Germany). After my PhD, I was granted a visiting studentship of two months at Swinburne Universityin Australia, under the supervision of Prof. Forbes (Swinburne University, Australia). I did my my first Postdoc at Nottingham University, under the supervision of Prof. Bamford (Centre for Astronomy Particle Physics, UK). In November 2013, I moved to Brazil, for a Postdoc at IAG (USP) with Prof. Mendes de Oliveira. I joined her team and the surveys S-PLUS 2, J-PLUS 3 and J-PAS 4. I acted as coordinator of the nearby galaxy group in JPAS, and I am currently coordinating the galaxy evolution group, together with Prof. González Delgado (IAA, SP). In S-PLUS, Iparticipated in a number of tasks, among other things I contributed in the great group effort for preparing data for the data releases, collaborated on writing reduction and analysis packages to create value-added catalogues for wide use of the community and contributed in the day-to-day needs of the project. In 2018 I took a postdoc of three years at the Observatory of Valongo (RJ, Brazil), working with Prof. Menéndez-Delmestre and Prof. Signorini Gonçalves and I joined the survey CANGA (Census of Austral Nearby GAlaxies). In December 2021 I started a postdoc at CBPF, Rio de Janeiro, under the supervision of Prof. De Bom. During this time we extended the method developed for S-PLUS first data release (DR1) to recover galaxies morphologies using Deep Learning (Bom et al., 2021) to S-PLUS DR3. I joined the DELVE survey. On the 1st of March 2022 I was awarded a FAPERJ postdoc fellowship Apoio ao Jovem Pesquisador Fluminense at the Observatory of Valongo. I joined CHANCES. I am currently a professor at IF/UFRJ. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
