Biologist and MSc in Forest Resources from the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture, University of São Paulo (ESALQ-USP). Currently a PhD candidate, under a double degree agreement, in Botany at the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden (ENBT/JBRJ) and in Natural Sciences at the University of Gothenburg (GU), Sweden. His research focuses on phylogenomic analyses of the megadiverse genus Senna (Leguminosae), in collaboration with researchers from Brazil and abroad, aiming to propose a new infrageneric classification and to test biogeographic and ecological hypotheses. He is also conducting ongoing taxonomic revisions of Senna ser. Bacillares, Coluteoideae, Laxiflorae, Pictae, and Stipulaceae. Author of two genera and several new species from the Neotropical region, described through studies integrating different approaches such as genomics, morphology, morphometrics, and X-ray imaging. Member of the Legume Phylogeny Working Group, contributing and publishing in international projects such as Advances in Legume Systematics and the Kews World Checklist of Vascular Plants (WCVP). Member of the Gothenburg Global Biodiversity Centre, based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Recipient of national and international awards, including from the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and the Society of Systematic Biologists. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
