Currently, an Associate Professor and Head of the Physical-Chemistry Department at the Institute of Chemistry at Unicamp (Brazil). He concluded several post-doctoral stays at the Universities of Reading and Warwick (UK) between 1998 and 2003. He was a Visiting Professor at the University of Oxford in 2008-2009, developing computational strategies to simulate self-assembled systems. He has published +105 articles in international journals about different research topics using atomistic modeling, including chemical reactivity, biomaterials, and heterogeneous catalysis. Active participation in +40 funded research projects. He has participated as invited speaker in +50 international events. He is the leader of the Unicamp Materials Simulation Lab (https://umsl.iqm.unicamp.br/).Main research area: Theoretical and computational chemistry applied to Materials Science.
