Amadeus Cavalcanti Salvador de Alcântara

I completed my Ph.D. in the Dept. of Computational Mechanics at the School of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP - Brazil). As a recipient of the prestigious FAPESP fellowship, my research focused on multiscale modeling of bone structures (halthy and osteoporotic) using computational methods. Additionally, I had the privilege of further enriching my academic journey as a visiting graduate student at MIT's Laboratory for Atomistic and Molecular Mechanics (LAMM) for one year.Prior to my Ph.D., I received my B.Eng. degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering from the Merseburg University of Applied Sciences (HOME - Germany), where, through the program Science without borders, I received a scholarship from CAPES and DAAD to pursue my undergraduate program previously started at the Federal University of Paraiba (UFPB - Brazil). During this time, I undertook a full-time internship at Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (Fraunhofer IPA - Germany), contributing to an interdisciplinary exoskeleton project. Furthermore, I participated in the 15th SAE Brasil Aerodesign International Competition in 2013, being an active member of the universitys team Aerojampa for over a year.My interests span computational solid mechanics, multiscale modeling, bone mechanical properties, aerospace and aeronautical engineering, cultured meat, and bionics/biomimetics (robots inspired by nature) and biomaterials. Besides that, I grew up in a musical family, and my passion for music and the cello results in several performances of both classical and Brazilian music. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
