Graduated in Biomedicine by the Bahian School of Medicine and Public Health, Master in Biotechnology, Health and Investigative Medicine (PgBSMI) by the Gonçalo Moniz Research Institute - Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (IGM-FIOCRUZ) and PhD in Human and Experimental Pathology by the Federal University of Bahia. She has developed research activities in the Laboratory of Molecular Biology at the Hemocentro Foundation of Ribeirão Preto (FUNDHERP) and in the Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Biology of Cancer of the Medical School of Ribeirão Preto - University of São Paulo (FMRP-USP). She develops research in the area of #8203;#8203;emerging arboviruses such as ZIKV, DENV, CHIKV, YFV, ORV and MAYV. She is a member of the ZIBRA Consortium and participates in ZIBRA project - Zika in Brazil Real Time Analyzes (http://www.zibraproject.org/), a Zika virus genomic mapping project in Brazil. Completed her PhD sandwich at the University of Birmingham, England, developing and optimizing protocols for complete genome sequencing with the nanopore technology for Zika viruses, HIV, and direct RNA sequencing. She's currently developing researches as a FAPESP Fellow at a postdoctoral level at the Tropical Medicine Institute of São Paulo - University of São Paulo (IMT-USP), within CADDE - Brazil-UK Center for Arbovirus Discovery, Diagnosis, Genomics and Epidemiology (http://caddecentre.org).
