He currently is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Getulio Vargas Foundation São Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV EAESP) where his research focuses on innovation for sustainable value creation in global value chains located in the Amazon. Previously he was an Assistant Professor at the Universidade Positivo (UP) and a Research Collaborator at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Environmental Solutions Initiative (MIT ESI). At UP he lectured in the Graduate Program in Environmental Management, Graduate Business Program, and in the undergraduate courses at the School of Business and International Relations. At MIT ESI his research focused on developing natural climate and community solutions. He holds a Doctorate in Environmental Management from UP. He completed a Master of Engineering in International Material Flow Management (IMAT) at the Trier University of Applied Sciences (TU) in Germany and a Master of Sciences in Environmental Management at Universidade Positivo. At UP, his research focused on environmental impact assessment (EIA), ecosystem services, and circular economy. At TU, his research focused on the creation of a method for the EU LIFE PROJECT Zenapa that integrates carbon sequestration, ecosystem service valuation, and socioeconomic benefits of forest conservation. He has a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Philosophy (American University, Washington, DC, US). His undergraduate work included transatlantic comparative politics and German idealism philosophy. He worked for the Department of Defense (DOD) in Washington, DC, US.
