Rogério Borges

Master in Geography and film director. PhD student at the Faculty of Education at UNICAMP by the OLHO Group - Laboratory of Audiovisual Studies and training coordinator of the Audiovisual Pole of the Old West. Graduated in Geography from UNESP Rio Claro and Master from the Postgraduate Program in Geography from UNESP Rio Claro, in the Teaching of Geography, Cartography and School Cartography line, with the research Cinema as a methodology for investigating the place: the cinematographic version of the Atlas Municipal School of Ourinhos-SP. Produces, applies and analyzes the results of the interface between cinema (training, production and dissemination) and geographic education at the fundamental level. Since 2013, he has been working at the Kino-Olho Cinematographic Research and Practice Group as a director, being president of the entity from 2018 to 2022. Since 2014, he has taught cinema workshops in schools, universities, SESCs, CRAS, cultural centers, among other diverse spaces. He made dozens of films in educational partnerships, as well as award-winning professional productions, with emphasis on his work as a director, winning the awards for Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Sound Editing in 2022 at the 55 Festival de Brasília do Cinema Brasileiro, with the film Ladson's Place; and the Special Jury Prize in 2016, at the 16th Goiânia Mostra Curtas, in addition to the screening and participation at the Hamburg International Festival, in 2017, in Germany, with the film Quem Chegar Por Último at the MoFriese children's exhibition. In 2018, the short film Imagem e Semelhança premiered at the 18th Goiânia Mostra Curtas and won 1st place in the Municipal Culture Notice of Rio Claro-SP, with the Cineclube da Luta project. In 2019, he was the creator and general coordinator of the 1st Cinema Meeting of the Interior Paulista, which gave rise to the ICine Forum of Cinema of the Interior Paulista, in addition to winning 1st place in the public notice Stimulus to the Short Film ProAC, with the project Por Trás dos Olhos . In 2020, he was contemplated by the Historic Edict for directing ProAC LAB short films with the project Meu Irmão, Chaplin. In 2021 he worked with cinema workshops in the Lugares de Cinema project, in the Cinema, Infância e Juventude project, as a curator and producer; produced the Film Exchange Other Interiors at SESC Piracicaba; in addition to debuting his film Mulheres na Margem. In 2022, the film Lugar de Ladson premiered, produced with a public school PCD student, with screenings at festivals 55 Festival de Brasília do Cinema Brasileiro (Best Script, Best Cinematography, Best Sound Editing), 33 International Short Film Festival de São Paulo, 45 Guarnicê Film Festival, 32 Rio de Janeiro International Short Film Festival - Curta Cinema 2022, 16 Curta Taquary, 8 Pajeú Film Festival, 5 Open House Film Festival, 14 Festival comKids, 13 Audiovisual Short Film Festival. In the same year, he produced the films Where Do Animals Go?, Experimento 1 Minuto and Festa Junina, at the agricultural school where he develops his doctoral research. In 2023, the film Arrimo premiered, with screenings at festivals 26 Tiradentes Film Festival, 11 Tiradentes SP Film Festival, 46 Guarnicê Film Festival, 34 São Paulo International Short Film Festival - Curta Kinoforum, 22 Goiânia Film Festival. In the same year, he taught Audiovisual and Technologies training for public school educators in Santos-SP; and Cinematographic Sensory Narratives, at CINESESC São Paulo. For the past 4 years he has been coordinating and teaching workshops for the Lugares de Cinema project, in Rio Claro-SP. Currently, he coordinates the cinema nucleus at Escola Agrícola Eng. Rubens Foot Guimarães, in Rio Claro-SP, where he develops his doctoral research, researching the place from indigenous perspectives and interventions in images and sounds. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
