Abstract

This project aims to contribute to the development of the interface between Cinema, Education and Geography, investigating the Municipal Agricultural School Engº. Rubens Foot Guimarães from a research-intervention, which will consist in the production of a series of 3 short films. The proposal is part of a large body of research that bets on the meeting between cinema and education, supported by Law 13,0006, which provides for the mandatory screening of national films in Brazilian schools. Based on authors such as Bergala (2008) and Migliorin (2015), we will work in between cinema and school, considering art as an element capable of producing displacements of the known, inviting teachers, employees, students and families to try new ways of seeing, listening and think the world. Understanding the place as a meeting of trajectories (MASSEY, 2008), we will seek indigenous and quilombola authors to think about the specific relationships with nature and non-human elements, such as the vegetable garden and animals, to point out the performance of these trajectories in cinema that will emerge in the agricultural school. Through the method of cartography, this research proposes to follow processes from the movements generated since the arrival of the researcher-filmmaker, with the proposal for the production of films, to the exhibitions of the works and conversation circles. Thus, the first stage consists of disseminating the proposal at the school and forming a film community (GUIMARÃES, 2015) with 20 students interested in participating in the project. In the second stage, we will start our film pre-production research, in which students will interview people from the community, in addition to photographing and filming the human and non-human elements of the school that they feel are important to be shown. In the third step, we will script and record with agents defined collectively from the second step onwards. After assembling the films, we will start the fourth stage of the research, which will be the period of exhibitions of the works at the school and conversation circles, expanding the agents participating in the film community. In order to follow the processes generated in the encounter between a school-place (OLIVEIRA JR, 2017) and a film production, we intend to contribute to an emancipated education, in which filmmaking is a power for geographic education by acting in the place, re-distribution of the sensible (RANCIÈRE, 2005) from the creation of images, sounds, times, narratives, discourses.
