Carolina de Camargo Abreu

Ph.D. in Social Anthropology, University of São Paulo - USP (2012). M.A. degree in Social Anthropology, University of São Paulo (2006). B.A. degree in Social Sciences, University of São Paulo (2000). Also she's graduated at Marketing Administration, Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing (1997). Research works focusing areas as Urban Anthropology, Visual Anthropology, Anthropology of Performance, Anthropology of Experience and Ethnographic Film. She is a member of the Centre of Anthropology, Performance and Drama (known as NAPEDRA - for Núcleo de Antropologia, Performance e Drama) and takes part of the Visual Anthropology Group (GRAVI). Her interdisciplinary research and production are instigated by the perspectives open for the ethnography film and artistic practices. An amateur dance and a theater lover, she sometimes assumes the risk of performing in non traditional stages. Walter Benjamin's writings have sparked special interest. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
