Renan Campos Chisté

Renan Chisté holds a Bachelor's degree in Agroindustrial Technology with an emphasis on Food Technology from the State University of Pará (UEPA, 2007), a Master's degree in Food Science and Technology from the Federal University of Pará (UFPA, 2008), and a Ph.D. in Food Science from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP, 2011). He completed postdoctoral research at UNICAMP (20112012) and at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto, Portugal (20122013), participating in projects focused on the extraction and evaluation of bioactive compounds from the Brazilian biome, with an emphasis on antioxidant properties for food and health applications. From 2016 to 2024, he was a Faculty Member and Researcher at the School of Food Engineering at UFPA, where he also held administrative roles in the Graduate Program in Food Science and Technology (PPGCTA/UFPA) from 2018 to 2023. He is currently a faculty member of the Department of Food at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), and a member of the Graduate Program in Food Science (PPGCA). His research focuses on the development and application of methods for the extraction, isolation, and characterization (LC-MS) of bioactive compounds, incorporating "Green Chemistry" approaches, as well as the use of natural pigments with antioxidant and color properties in food systems. He contributes to the academic community as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Food Composition and Analysis (Elsevier), a reviewer for high-impact international journals, and an ad hoc consultant for Brazilian research funding agencies.
