Otávio Cabral-Marques is an Associate Professor in Molecular Medicine at the University of São Paulo Medical School (FM-USP), in the Department of Clinical Medicine, serving as the representative of the Associate Professor category (MS-3) within the Department's Council. His work involves systemic integrative analysis of neuroimmunological networks to understand immune response and new molecular mechanisms in depression, infections, autoimmune diseases, and cancer. Previously, he held the position of Visiting Full Professor in the Department of Pharmacy at the Center for Health Sciences of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, starting on August 29, 2022, and ending on April 10, 2023. Currently, he serves as a Full Advisor in the Departments of Clinical Medicine, Immunology, and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences (FCF/USP), as well as a Visiting Advisor in the Interunits Graduate Program in Bioinformatics at the University of São Paulo (USP).He holds a degree in Biology from the Regional University of Blumenau (2001-2005), obtained a Master's degree (2006-2008), and a PhD (2008-2012) in Immunology from the Institute of Biomedical Sciences at USP. He conducted a Sandwich PhD program at the University of Washington School of Medicine and the Seattle Children's Research Institute in Seattle, WA, USA, from December 2010 to May 2011. He also completed postdoctoral studies in Brazil (University of São Paulo; 2012-2015) and Germany (Department of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology, University of Lübeck: October 2015 to April 2019; and Center for Chronic Immunodeficiency (CCI), Medical Center, University of Freiburg: April 2015 to November 2019).Furthermore, he serves as a Junior Ambassador from Brazil to the Network of Immunity in Infection, Malignancy and Autoimmunity (NIIMA), part of the Universal Scientific Education and Research Network (USERN).
