He graduated in Industrial Chemistry from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (2002) and carried out stage in the company Synteko Chemical Products SA (2002) in the development of thermosetting resins. Masters degree at the same institution (2005) under the guidance of Prof. Eduardo Rolim de Oliveira. In 2005, he worked in the laboratory of Prof. Richard Larock at Iowa State University (USA) with reactions involving arynes. Between 2006 and 2007 at Unicamp, he participated in a project about interferon bioconjugation under the supervision of Prof. Maria Helena Andrade Santana and in collaboration with the pharmaceutical company Blausiegel. He is Doctor of Science (2013) from Unicamp under guidance of Prof.Carlos Roque Duarte Correia. In the period 2014-2015, he held postdoc in the lab of Prof. Varinder K. Aggarwal at the University of Bristol developing strategies for polyketide synthesis. He has experience in medicinal chemistry with a focus on neglected diseases, having worked in the Prof. Luiz Carlos Dias' Group in 2013 and between 2015-2018 in partnership with Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) and Drugs for Neglected Disease Initiative (DNDi) sinthesizing prototypes against malaria leishmaniasis and Chagas' disease. In 2017 he founded the company OLib - Biblioteca de Compostos Orgânicos, together with 4 other partners. OLib operates in the synthesis of analytical pharmaceutical standards and spectroscopic characterization, having characterized more than 250 API's.
