Prof. Leandro Barbosa has a degree (2004) and a Ph.D. (2008) in Physics from the University of São Paulo. Has experience in Physics, with emphasis on small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) conventional as well as cryogenic. In recent years he has been dedicated to the study of nanoparticles with cubic structure (cubosomes) for the creation/formulation of Drug Delivery systems. It has also acted in determining the envelope of proteins without resolved structure and in determining the protein structure. It also acts in the study of the effect of denaturing agents on the structure of proteins. Since March 2011 he has been a professor in the Department of General Physics at the Physics Institute of USP, where he coordinates the Laboratory of Biosystems, belonging to the Biophysics Group at FGE.
