He has a bachelor degree in Geology from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1988), a master degree in Geology from the University of Brasília (1992) and a doctorate in Geology from the University of Brasília (1997); Post-Doctorate at the University of Maryland (2000) and Professorship at the University of São Paulo (2013). Associate Professor at the Institute of Geosciences at the University of São Paulo. Works concentrated in the area of Metamorphic Petrology, working in areas of high-grade metamorphic rocks, but has experience in almost the entire P-T window of metamorphism. Investigating rocks in various metamorphic terranes from Brazil, Argentina and Antarctica. Constant reviewer of Petrology and Regional Geology journals. Ad hoc consultant for FAPESP and CNPq.
