Graduated in Biological Sciences from Minas Gerais State University (2007). Master in Science - Parasitology by ICB/USP working with biochemistry of Plasmodium falciparum (2011). PhD in Science - Parasitology by ICB/USP working with molecular biology (regulation of gene expression) in P. falciparum (2015). PhD exchange at Colorado State University (2013 - 2014). Post-doctorate at the University of Glasgow, working with molecular biology (CRISPR/Cas9 and induction of gametocytes) in Plasmodium knowlesi (2017-2018). Post-doctorate at Oxford, working with bioinformatics, molecular and cell biology of trypanosomatids supported by Royal Society grant (2019-2022). Between the years of 2022 to 2024 working in the industry (Oxgene - WuXi Advanced Therapies company) as Senior Scientist to investigate gene expression pathways to enhance transgene expression in viral gene therapy vectors as a new therapy platform to be applied in clinical Research for many types of solid tumours and T-cells.
