Graduated in Mathematics from the State University of Campinas (1977), MA in Mathematics from the Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics (IMPA - RJ) (1980), and Ph.D. in Physics from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) (1987), with post-doc in Theoretical Physics and Astrophysics at the University of Oxford and Brown University respectively, concentrating, for many years, his research in Field Theory and Cosmology. Also held a post-doctorate in Computer Music at the University of Plymouth (2004). He is a retired Associate Professor from UNICAMP. Currently he is an Associate Researcher at the Interdisciplinary Center for Sound Communication (NICS), UNICAMP, and focuses his research in the area of Formal Models in Music Composition and Sonology. He is also currently a Visiting Professor at the Graduate Program of the Department of Music, UNICAMP, in the area of Music and Technology. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
