Anna Helena Reali Costa is a full professor at the Escola Politécnica of the Universidade de São Paulo (EPUSP), Brazil. She holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from EPUSP, and a master's and a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, both from Centro Universitário FEI, in São Bernardo do Campo, SP. She was a visiting researcher during her PhD, working on computer vision and intelligent mobile robots, at the Institut für Prozessrechentechnik und Robotik (IPR) of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Karlsruhe, Germany. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the integration of planning and learning for intelligent mobile robots at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), USA. She is the Director of the Center for Data Science (C2D), a partnership between USP and Itaú-Unibanco bank, and a researcher at the Center for Artificial Intelligence (C4AI) at USP, a partnership between USP, IBM and FAPESP. She is an Associate Editor of the journal Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence and of Machine Learning and Knowledge Extraction. She is a member of the Special Committee on Artificial Intelligence of the Brazilian Computer Society. Her main interests lie in artificial intelligence, in particular in real-time learning, especially reinforcement learning. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
